Thai street food is landing in Elmfield Park.

Not a takeaway. A full festival. Live music, sizzling woks, the kind of day people drive to Leeds for… and half the town won’t find out until it’s over.

That last part bothers me more than it should.

You’ve probably done it yourself. Seen the photos on the Monday. Someone you know was there, twenty minutes from your house, and you spent the day scrolling wondering what to do.

It’s not that nothing happens in Doncaster. Things happen constantly. They just don’t reach you in time.

Taste of Thailand fixes the “nothing on” excuse for one weekend at least. Proper Thai cooking done in front of you, music running all day, in a park you’ve walked through a hundred times without anything going on in it.

Actually that’s not quite fair, Elmfield hosts a few things. But nothing that smells like this will.

I’d recommend deciding now rather than the night before. These days fill up quietly.
