Valspar Trade supports Doncaster College as part of UK-wide tour

As part of its 2024/25 College Tour, Valspar Trade has recently visited Doncaster College, delivering its award-winning Colour Workshop to its painting and decorating students. The college was also presented with a £500 donation, which they plan to invest in the SAFE fund, set up to support its most vulnerable learners.

Valspar Trade, part of Valspar and Sherwin-Williams, is on tour, taking its award-winning Colour Workshop to a series of colleges across the UK. This week, Valspar Trade was at Doncaster College, with Trade Sales Specialist (TSS) for the region, Deborah Messenger, delivering the Colour Workshop to the college’s NVQ painting and decorating students.

As part of the partnership, Valspar Trade also presented the college with a £500 donation for an initiative of the college’s choosing.

Speaking about the partnership, Glen Galbraith, Lecturer at Doncaster College, said: “We were delighted to recently welcome Valspar Trade to our college. It was a really enjoyable day for everyone involved, with positive feedback from students about how informative and engaging the sessions were

“We’re also really thankful for Valspar Trade’s donation, which we intend to put towards our college SAFE fund. This fund is used to support some of our most vulnerable learners, including helping to purchase food and care packages throughout the academic year, as well as over the festive break; pay for transport costs to ensure our student educational needs are met; or even contribute toward gas and electricity.”

Richard Palmer, Head of Trade at Valspar Trade, added: “We’re delighted to be hitting the road again, with our tour a fantastic opportunity to work with local colleges and support the younger generation of painters and decorators, helping to encourage their learning and passion for the trade.

“We really pride ourselves on our colour offer, with achieving a perfect colour just as important as the perfect finish. That’s why we developed our Colour Workshop, educating students on everything from colour psychology to colour mixing.”

Valspar Trade’s tour continues, with further college visits scheduled over the 2024/2025 academic year.
