Full police statement as man seriously injured after car hits mobility scooter

The rider of the mobility scooter has been left with serious injuries

A man in his 50s has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a crash involving a car and the mobility scooter he was riding.

Emergency services, including South Yorkshire Police (SYP), were called to Field Side in Thorne, Doncaster at 9.25am today (Mon). Once there, officers found a car and a mobility scooter had been involved in a crash in the street.

The rider of the mobility scooter, a man in his 50s, was rushed to hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries. The road currently remains closed between Foundry Lane and Field Road as enquiries continue.
